Deeanne’s Story

I am a 62-year-old woman, and I was diagnosed with triple-positive invasive breast cancer in July 2025. It was discovered during my annual mammogram.

I had a lumpectomy and lymph node removal surgery in August. Today, I am receiving my fourth round of chemotherapy and Herceptin infusions. I will have eight more rounds of both, then continue Herceptin infusions for another 12 months. In January, I will begin a month of radiation treatments, five days a week for four weeks.

I have lost my hair, am constantly fatigued, and experience stomach issues for two to three days after each infusion. I am staying positive, even though that can be difficult on the bad days.

I have a wonderful husband and a Goldendoodle who take care of me — I am blessed to have them both.
