Katrina’ C’s Story

I’m 43 and a mother to six children, ages 17, 15, 14, 13, 11 and 3. I was diagnosed with ER-positive, PR-positive, HER2-negative invasive ductal carcinoma (IDC) in January. I’m scheduled for a bilateral mastectomy on March 6, followed by radiation and possibly chemotherapy, depending on my Oncotype results.

I was blindsided by my diagnosis — it was found during a routine mammogram. I’m absolutely terrified, but I’m fighting. I worry about the financial hit we’ll take, my health, my kids, whether I’ll develop other cancers, how well I’ll recover, and whether my husband will still love me. There are just so many worries.

I would love to receive a box as a pick-me-up and to have something to look forward to — especially since I rarely do anything for myself. With a big family, there’s always something or someone else who needs more than I do.

Thank you for your consideration!

Katrina
