Kyia’s Story

Hi! My name is Kyia, and I’m 26 years old. I was diagnosed with Stage 2 unfavorable nodular sclerosis bulky Hodgkin lymphoma right before my 25th birthday. Like many others who hear the words “you have cancer,” my entire world was turned upside down.

I had to drop out of nursing school and take a long leave of absence from my job at the hospital to undergo treatment. On a positive note, I adopted a sweet dog named Georgia from a rescue to help me through chemo — she’s been the light of my life during this chapter.

I’m a cottage girl at heart, and I love reading, all things cozy and anything Snoopy.
