Christina R’s Story

I was diagnosed with Stage 3B triple-negative breast cancer when I was almost four months postpartum with my son, Rio. My treatment plan includes 16 rounds of chemotherapy, followed by surgery, radiation and then nine more months of immunotherapy.

I’ve completed nine rounds of chemo so far. From May through July, I’ll begin the tougher medications — commonly known as the “red devil” — and I’m feeling pretty nervous about that.

I’m beyond blessed to have a family to fight for and a support system that helps us so much with Rio, allowing me to focus on recovery. It’s become my mission to help others going through this feel less alone and to be someone they can turn to with questions they may not feel comfortable asking anyone else.

My husband and I are both still working full time. I’m especially grateful I’ve been able to continue working in healthcare — helping others brings me so much joy.
